SERVICE is the Energy Efficiency Investment Decision Tool
Members of the Sustainable Shipping Initiative (SSI) who helped to develop the tool and the IMO Secretariat have been given access to this tool.

The decision tool allows the the changes in fuel consumption, cost and profit to be calculated based on the user selected ship parameters and efficiency methods with a brief description of each efficiency method.
The data used in the model corresponds to the RINA and IMarEST paper (ISWG-GHG 1/2/10) presented at the IMO GHG intersessional. You can download the presentation from the paper's page
SERVICE was developed with a UK government (EPSRC) Impact Acceleration Award. This grant was awarded to the UCL Mechanical Engineering department and the UCL Energy Institute.
The tool was developed with input from the Sustainable Shipping Initiative (SSI), which consists of a group of world leading shipping stakeholders.
